I have been teaching yoga and meditation since 1998 and giving short “dharma” talks at the beginning of each class. Dharma is a Sanskrit word which translates as support, that which upholds us deep within. Dharma also can be translated as deep truths or laws that govern all things in nature.

Dharma talks are a traditional way of passing along the teachings of Yoga and Buddhism, two traditions I have been practicing for 30 years. I often connect specific teachings with stories from my life, a method used by many of my teachers, as a way to bring the teachings to life. Stories remind us to apply the teachings into our day to day experiences. Stories also connect us to our shared goodness.
